Support Drummond – Get Involved!

Friends of Drummond (FOD) is a charitable organization dedicated to supporting the efforts of Drummond students, teachers, students, and administrators.  The focus of FOD is fundraising, recruiting parents and school neighbors to volunteer in the school in other capacities, and promoting relationships between Drummond and the local business community and elected local and state officials. 

Major FOD projects have included:

  • 2005: hosted cooking classes at Drummond taught by local restaurant chefs; raised $5,000.
  • 2006: hosted Cinco de Mayo fundraiser (including silent auction); raised $14,000 to kick start Campus Park/Garden fundraising
  • 2006: obtained additional $10,000 in grant money for after-school program including music/drama program for middle schoolers.
  • 2006: achieved 501(c)(3) charitable organization designation (FOD donations are now tax-deductible!)
  • 2007: organized Tango for Drummond event, raising $30,000 for needed Drummond building improvements
  • 2007: solicited sponsorship to establish a matching fund for the Isabel Mesa Collins Scholarship fund to help needy Drummond families with the purchase of school clothes, field trip fees, and school supplies.
  • 2007: sponsored Teacher Appreciation Luncheon
  • 2008: partnered with Drummond PTO to hold first Pasta Palooza school-wide social event (free to all thanks to sponsorship).
  • 2008: obtained corporate sponsorship for Ultimate Frisbee Team.


What’s Next:

  • 2008: Second Annual Pasta Palooza social event (October 17, 2008)
  • 2009: The Big Event spring fundraiser (goal: $40,000)
