Application Policy

Drummond Montessori strictly adheres to the Chicago Public Schools, Office of Academic Enhancement guidelines that apply to all magnet schools and lottery programs.

Application Deadline for 2007 Admission

Applications for 2008 will be available from October 16, 2007 until December 21, 2007. All applications must be mailed in or dropped off to the Drummond School main office. All mailed applications must be postmarked by 12:00 midnight, December 21, 2007 in order to be included in the lottery process. The lottery is renewed every year.

Eligibility

Your child must be three years of age on or before September 1, 2008 in order to be included in the 2008 lottery pool. "Proximity" applies to families who live within a 1.5-mile radius of Drummond School. Only new applicants that have a brother or sister already in our program are eligible to participate in the "Sibling Lottery." The "General Lottery" is available to families who live within the limits of Chicago boundaries.

Families that apply to our program should do so with the understanding that bussing is not a part of our funding; therefore, transportation to and from school is the sole responsibility of the parents.

PLEASE NOTE : The application deadline for August 2008 admission is December 21, 2007. Applications for August 2008 admission will be accepted beginning October 15, 2007.
