MAYOR RICHARD DALEY AND ALDERMAN TED MATLAK
REVIEW THE GARDEN PLANS WITH
DRUMMOND MONTESSORI DIRECTOR MARK NEIDLINGER.

In keeping with the Montessori philosophy of comprehensive learning and community engagement, the Drummond School Campus Park Project will convert the current 63,000 square foot asphalt playground and parking area into an environmentally friendly play area, outdoor classroom, and neighborhood green space. The $700,000 project has come about as a result of the efforts of the Friends of Drummond working with the school and landscape designer Greg Raymond.

The new park will feature a reading garden designed to be integrated with the school's Montessori Curriculum and will be constructed using ecologically sustainable methods wherever feasible. To see the drawings, click below.

The Drummond School Campus Park Project is made possible with major funding from the City of Chicago and additional support from our generous partners and friends. For a list of neighborhood sponsors, click below.
